Smite 2: Release Date, Playable Gods & More

Smite 2

Smite 2, the anticipated sequel to the original game, is set to redefine its predecessor’s legacy. In this overview, we cover essential details ranging from Alpha signups to the release date and other noteworthy features.

Release Details

The full release date remains unknown, but the Alpha version is scheduled for a Spring 2024 launch. This early access opportunity allows enthusiasts to delve into the game’s offerings in the coming months.

Playable Gods in Alpha

The Alpha version will feature 25 playable gods, with the initial confirmation of 10 gods, including Bacchus, Anhur, Ymir, Anubis, Bellona, Chaac, Kukulkan, Odin, Cernunnos and Loki. While all gods from Smite 1 will eventually join the sequel, their introduction order will not align with their original game release dates.

Smite 1’s Future

Contrary to speculations, Smite 1 is not scheduled for shutdown with the advent of Smite 2. The developers plan to keep both games operational simultaneously, extending Smite 1’s lifespan with additional content for at least one more year. The fate of Smite 1 servers will hinge on player interest and activity.

Alpha Access and Smite 2 Founder’s Pack

For those eager to experience the Alpha, registration on the official website is the key. While Alpha access isn’t guaranteed through registration alone, players can secure entry by purchasing the Smite 2 Founder’s Pack, which also includes perks from Smite 1.

Changes

Smite 2 ushers in substantial modifications across the board. The game introduces a revamped map with altered lane layouts and jungle camps. Additionally, significant alterations are made to the item system, allowing gods to purchase Strength and Intelligence instead of being limited to Magical or Physical damage items. The evolution from Smite 1 to Smite 2 is marked by these transformative adjustments.

Uncertain Game Mode Transition

While details remain scant, it’s uncertain which game modes will transition from Smite 1 to Smite 2, excluding Conquest, which is confirmed. The primary competitive mode will serve as the starting point for many players as they embark on their Alpha journey.
