PlayStation State of Play

The PlayStation State of Play for September 2024 will present upcoming updates and news for PS5 and PS VR2 games. Fans are eager to see what will be revealed as rumors about several games have been circulating.

PlayStation State of Play Date, Time and Streaming Information

The next PlayStation State of Play event will be held on September 24, 2024. It will start at 3 pm PT, which is 6 pm ET, 11 pm BST, and 7 am JST on September 25 for Japan. Fans can watch the broadcast live on PlayStation’s YouTube and Twitch channels, with streams available in both English and Japanese.

Duration and Format

The event will run for over 30 minutes, focusing on updates and announcements for more than 20 upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games. These games are being developed by studios worldwide.

Anticipated Game Announcements

Although PlayStation hasn’t officially listed any specific titles, several games are expected to make an appearance. One highly anticipated reveal is the remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn. This speculation comes from a recent ESRB rating, which hints at the likelihood of the game’s inclusion in the event.

Alongside the remaster, Guerilla Games is reportedly developing two additional Horizon-related projects. One of these games is expected to be a multiplayer title, although it may still be in the early stages of development. PlayStation may provide a teaser or update for at least one of these upcoming games.

Death Stranding 2

There is also a chance that Death Stranding 2 will be shown during the event. This theory comes from the fact that the event is scheduled just a day before the Tokyo Game Show, where Death Stranding 2 will have its own special panel. Fans of Hideo Kojima’s work may get a glimpse of what’s to come.

Silent Hill 2’s Remake

Silent Hill 2’s remake could also feature in the presentation. This title was previously showcased in the May 2024 State of Play, and with its release date set for October 8, 2024, it may get another moment in the spotlight. The remake is being developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami, and this event would provide an opportunity to share more updates before its launch.

First-Party Studio Projects

PlayStation’s first-party studios, such as Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions, are rumored to be working on unannounced projects. Both studios have been quiet since releasing The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima in 2020. However, major reveals from these studios are not expected, as previous State of Play events have focused more on smaller announcements like remasters, PC ports, and third-party titles.
