Paramount+ released the first trailer for its new CG animated series, Dora, on Monday. The series, featuring the iconic character Dora the Explorer, promises to bring back the beloved adventures of Dora and her friends in the rainforest.

Release Date, Where to Watch, Episode Count

Produced by Nickelodeon Animation, the series is set to release on April 12 on Paramount+ in North America, the U.K., and Australia. The series consists of 26 episodes, which are 11-minute-long. Around 20 episodes will also be available for streaming in other Paramount+ markets. Additionally, it will air on Nick Jr. internationally.

The trailer depicts Dora and her companions engaging in various adventurous activities like swinging on vines and encountering flying animals in the rainforest. Despite challenges, Dora’s confidence and determination shine through as she leads her friends through obstacles.

Cast and Characters

Kathleen Herles, the original voice of Dora, returns as Mami. Asher Colton Spence voices Boots, Dora’s monkey companion, while Anairis Quiñones voices Map. The mischievous fox, Swiper, has been voiced by Marc Weiner. In addition to the main cast, the series features guest stars like Taboo and Kate del Castillo.

Production

The series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank, California, and was created by Chris Gifford and Valerie Walsh Valdes. Rich Magallanes, Chris Gifford, and Valerie Walsh Valdes serve as executive producers.

Dora’s Legacy

Dora the Explorer originally aired in 2000 and gained immense popularity over its eight-season run, with 172 episodes. It is available in over 150 countries and translated into 32 languages. The franchise expanded beyond television to include merchandise and stage shows. In 2019, Dora made her big-screen debut in “Dora and the Lost City of Gold.”

Upcoming Projects

Alongside the animated series, Nickelodeon is launching “Dora’s Recipe for Adventure,” a podcast celebrating culture and family. The podcast follows Dora and Boots on culinary expeditions through the rainforest.
